What does it look like in practice ?
From firefighting…
❌ Critical and unexpected issues with in-house developed tools
❌ Development team forced to react under pressure
❌ No room left for improvements or strategic work
to full control.
✅ Effective and continuous monitoring in place
✅ 100% reduction in downtime
✅ Development team autonomous and focused on improvements
Client context
Our client is a small company operating in the agricultural logistics sector in Latin America. With personnel working in the field, they must be sure that their digital tools are continuously available. Even minor disruption can mean they are unable to carry out their fieldwork.
Initial challenge
The company faced critical unexpected issues with their in-house developed tools, leading to applications crashes. These disruptions left field users without access to essential tools, resulting in wasted time and resource. Furthermore, the development team was forced to react instead of focusing on proactive improvements. This not only put pressure on the team but also posed a significant risk to operational efficiency.
Our role
Axoly Tech was tasked with developing a long-term solution to adress these challenges. Through an initial audit and discussions with the development team, we identified that the issue was not related to software quality, but rather to a lack of effective monitoring. Critical server constraints, such as disk space, memory usage, and network bottlenecks, were not being detected on time, preventing proactive interventions.

Solutions delivered
Based on our findings, we implemented the following solution: Strategic roadmap: we created a detailed roadmap to implement monitoring solutions and prevention alerts using Grafana, Prometheus, and custom-made exporters.
System integration: due to the internal development team’s capacity limitations, we implemented the integration of the monitoring system with their existing tools, ensuring minimal disruption.
Response plan: we established a clear response plan for handling alerts, to avoid confusion and to establish clear responsibilities within the team.
Training and autonomy: we provided training to the team, enabling them to autonomously extend the monitoring tools in the future.

Our intervention resulted in:
100% reduction in downtime: thanks to the proactive monitoring and alert systems, we eliminated downtime due to unforeseen events, improving operational efficiency and reliability.
Team autonomy: the development team is now capable of monitoring their own solutions, which reduces reliance on external support and enhances their ability to manage and maintain their systems independently.
The importance of autonomy
Building resilient and observable digital tools is essential for maintaining them in the long-term, especially for SMEs that have limited resources.
An unforeseen crash can bring operations down and compromise future development. Therefore, creating robust safety nets and prevention strategies is crucial for business continuity and growth.
This project aligns with our mission to empower SMEs and startups, enabling them to focus on delivering their core impacts without being slowed down by technical issues that can be proactively addressed.
By collaborating closely with the development teams, we resolved immediate challenges and enhanced enterprise autonomy — a core value of Axoly Tech.
